what is cerebral palsy?

Cerebral Palsy is a neurological condition that results from an injury to the brain. This can occur during pregnancy or post birth. The injury impacts the way that the brain sends messages to the muscles, and in turn causes muscle weakness, stiffness or increased tone, balance, mobility, and coordination impairments. Cerebral Palsy can have a variety of presentations depending on the area and extent to which the brain is affected.
